Members of the Academic community in Morocco, Libya, Palestine, Jordan, Bahrain, Egypt, Sudan, Iraq, Yemen, and Tunisia contributed to the contents of the publication. Each presented a detailed analysis of universities in the listed countries. The situation reports are followed by a joint statement that includes proposals and recommendations to push for further academic freedom in the Arab World. The three editions of the book are the first of their kind as they are the only serious and comprehensive studies conducted on the status of academic freedom in Arab universities.
