conclusion of the training of trainers (TOT) on human rights for the police officers of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, organized by the Amman Center for Human Rights Studies [ACHRS] and the Popular Aid Organization (PAO) in cooperation with the Norwegian Popular Aid (NPA) and the Ministry of Interior/ Government of the Iraqi Kurdistan region. Twelve police officers of the various police sections participated in the 10-day session.

ACHRS opposes and actively campaigns against the death penalty in all cases and every form no matter where it is used. It considers the death penalty a violation of the right to life and the ultimate form of inhuman, cruel, and degrading punishment.

Briefing   Session   on Universal Periodic Review (UPR) For the Iraqi Governmental Delegation

Amman Center for Human Rights Studies (ACHRS) in cooperation with UNAMI and UNOPS held a Briefing Session on Universal Periodic Review (UPR) in Amman for Iraq Governmental Delegation from 8 to 9 February 2010. 13 participants from deferent ministries   attend the course.
